Please join us on our new site

News

The new Digital Artist Magazine website and store are up and running, although some areas are still under construction and back issues are not currently available in the store. We are so excited to offer you a brand new quality service, particularly because it’s taken us so long to get here! We would like to take the opportunity to apologize for the recent delay. Moving to a new server, installing our new services and configuring the site has not been without it’s difficulties which was unfortunately added to by real life issues. We cannot thank you enough for “rolling with us”, your support (especially those of you who emailed in) has been incredible and we truly appreciate all of you! Please take the time to read through our first News Update to see the new features of the site, subscribe to our newsletter and submit your work for publication.

All of our customers will need to register in the new store in order to purchase the September 2009 issue and subsequent issues. During the registration process there is a field for current subscribers to list the email address under which your original subscription was purchased.  We require this email address because previously your subscriptions were managed by the email address on the PayPal account you used to purchase the subscription. Going forward your email address within the store does not have to be the same as your PayPal address, so you should feel free to use your main/preferred email address on your account.

We sent out emails to the addresses we had on file last week asking for subscribers to register in the store, however a few of those emails were returned as invalid email addresses, and it’s also possible that many were caught up in spam filters or were sent to an email address that some of you do not routinely check. For our subscribers, once you are registered in the store there will be up to a 12 hour delay (usually much quicker) for us to switch your account over to “Subscriber” so that you can acquire your copy of the magazine. You will receive a notification email letting you know that your account is activated as a Subscriber. From that point forward you can add the most current issue of the magazine to your shopping cart and proceed through the checkout process in order to download. When your subscription expires the shopping cart will start charging for the magazine once more.

Please note that comments are disabled on this blog post. We ask that any questions or concerns be sent through the “Contact Us” form on the new website.  Our blog comments and posts on third-party sites are not routinely monitored by the customer service staff of Digital Artist Magazine.

We look forward to seeing you all on our new website!

Important News from Digital Artist Magazine

News

Dear Readers,

We’re writing you today to inform you of a slight change of plans for our July 2009 issue of Digital Artist Magazine.

You may not be aware, but behind the scenes we have been working hard to update our website and implement new software to streamline the subscription process and provide a more efficient way to get your copy of the magazine to you every month. This upgrade is long overdue and we’re excited to be able to offer you this new and improved level of service.

As a result of this switch your Digital Artist Magazine management team, which is admittedly a bit on the “petite” side, will be spending a lot of time over the next couple of weeks migrating all of your important subscription information over into the new system. As you can imagine, this will not be a particularly easy or quick process considering the size of our vast and loyal readership. It required that we take a little time to evaluate our options when it comes to the July issue and our plans for the improved site and subscription features.  Should we focus on both things simultaneously and risk the integrity of both final products or put all of our attention towards each task in turn and make sure they’re both done properly?

In the end we felt that the most responsible way to serve you would be for us to “skip” the July issue release and absorb that content into the August issue with a release date set for August 1st.  This would also allow us to reconfigure our schedule so that the standard release date, going forward, will be on the first of each month.  Historically the release date for the magazine has been on or about the 20th of each month, so this slight change will actually only be 10 days later than the typical release date.

What does this mean for you? Other than the release being delayed by 10 days, nothing!  You will still receive all of the valuable content in the August 1st issue.  We felt it important to keep you updated and hope you are able to understand why we must implement this plan now, rather than at a later date. To compensate you for your patience, your subscription term will be extended by an additional 2 months as we input your subscription information into our new system.  There are no forms for you to fill out, no emails for you to send, the extension will be reflected automatically on your account.

(Note for subscriptions prior to January 31st, 2009: This subscription extension will be in addition to the 2 month subscription extension that was announced in our February 2009 issue, so a total of 4 months will be added to your original subscription term.)

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support and understanding, and we hope to see your bright, sunshiny faces at the launch of our new website.

Your Digital Artist Magazine Management Team

Uncategorized

Did you apply for a 2 month extension in February? If you think you may be entitled, please read this post.

We have received so many Subscriber Extension emails and thought it necessary to update you on what’s going on. We had planned to email a confirmation back within 28 days of receiving your email however due to our regular overload of work, we are unable to do so. We apologize for the delay but rest assured, the extensions ARE in the process of being updated and you will receive an email once everything has been completed.

The February issue is here!

News

The February issue is IN THE STORE and 20% off.

The February edition of Digital Artist Magazine is full of fabulous and frivolous delights! Feast your eyes on the wonderfully designed pages in our Love Inspiration Gallery, and try your hand at making easy hybrid Valentine’s cards. Learn more about designer Vera Lim as she tells us about her life and design work, and don’t miss The One To Watch - our very own Laura Kannady got the scoop on Heidi Swapp’s jump to digital! As always, there’s plenty to read and see but our favorite and most recommended read is definitely the Intimate Photography article with Chris O’Dell. Don’t be alarmed - it’s G rated and aims to teach you how to shoot some stunning photos, from both sides of the lens! Read more about it HERE !

In order to maintain a workable schedule, we have decided to skip ahead of the January issue and release February’s edition – full of fabulous and frivolous delights and just in time for Valentine’s Day.

CURRENT SUBSCRIBERS: Not only are we giving you a 1 month extension to make up for the cancelled January issue, we’re giving you an EXTRA MONTH for free to say thanks for your continued support and dedication, despite the ups and downs we’ve encountered.

If you subscribed to Digital Artist Magazine before January 31st 2009 you’re eligible for a 2 month extension. As our current subscription software is very basic, all extensions will be manually updated so please provide the following information to qualify:

Your full name and the PayPal email address you used when purchasing a subscription.

Please send your details to mail@digitalartistmagazine.com with the subject header “Subscriber Extension” and we’ll send confirmation of your two month extension within 28 days. If you have any queries, please email us at the above address.

January Update

Uncategorized

Hi everyone!

The February issue will be out in the next few days and both the magazine and blog will have information for subscribers about your subscriptions being extended by 1 month. Details of this will be sent out by email too.

We have had so many delays and problems arise over the past few months as you know, and the only way we can get ahead is to skip the January issue. As I am sure you will appreciate, we needed to ensure the system for extending your subscriptions was in place before giving details. We are trying to make sure everything runs as smooth as possible without any more problems!

All details of how to extend your subscription will be given when the issue is released, which will be in the next few days! I am truly sorry for all of the frustration and inconvenience caused over the past few months but rest assured, we have hired, brainstormed, problem solved and planned to avoid situations like this in the future.

2009 is the new start for Digital Artist Magazine and we hope you’ll enjoy the changes and improvements!
